Spring Break in Branson

The girls and I met my parents in Branson for Spring Break.  We had a wonderful time, but unfortunately had some health issues while we were there.  Anna and I both had pink eye.  Then Megan came down with the flu.  Despite it all, we still had fun.  Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us stay with you and for helping us to have a wonderful getaway.

These are pictures of us at the Branson Landing.  We ate at Cantina Laredo, which is always nice.  By the way, Dad, I like that coat you're wearing!  :)

Here are the girls having ice cream at the pool.

Here they are posing with some "Amazing Pets" animals.  It was a really fun show for the girls.  They both love animals, so it doesn't get much better than that for them.  Plus, they got cotton candy....can't beat that!
We also got to go to Dixie Stampede.  Dad got to go down as a contestant in the "horseshoe contest," which is really potty seats.  He did the North proud and won a medal for us!  After the show, the girls hung around to pet all the horses.  Then we went by all the horses in their stables afterwards.  Megan and Anna had to know the names of each horse.  I think we were one of the last families to leave.

Those were the only two shows we went to, but we went swimming, rested a lot (with Megan being so sick), played putt-putt, watched movies, shopped, played games, colored, painted, and the girls went on a nature walk with Papa.

Wye Mtn.

Every year we love to go to Wye Mtn. and take pictures.  It's such a beautiful place.  As you can tell, the girls had lots of fun.  It was a damp, cold day.  So, they thought it was funny pushing each other over into the mud!!!

Good Times with Dear Friends

On the way home from Branson, the girls got to see their dear friends, Emersyn and Bergen.  Bergen's the one hiding behind the gum ball machine b/c he didn't want his picture taken.  But as you can see, the girls want in the spotlight as much as possible.  They aren't camera shy at all!

Doggie Pics

Visit with Nana

We went to see Nana before we headed to Branson.   It was a nice visit.  There is a "creek" that runs along her road.  And every once in a while, Jason takes the girls "crawdad fishing" with pieces of hot dogs on a fishing hook.  I am NOT kidding.  It is so funny to watch.  Sure enough, those crawdads grab onto the hot dog and then the girls reel them in.  They always have a great time.  And the best part, is we don't have to clean any fish!!  :)

Bunko

Our neighborhood started a Bunko group.  We met Friday night for our first round of fun...and boy, was it fun.  I'm so happy to have a group of women to get together with and play Bunko with again.  I'm excited about many more nights of fun to come.

And, BTW, I can hardly wait for Spring Break.  I'm like a little kid anticipating the fun.  We're planning on visiting family, going to Branson with my parents, and visiting some friends.  It will be so nice having Megan out of school for a whole week.

Horses!

For Megan's birthday, we surprised her with horseback riding lessons.  She was THRILLED!!!  She loves animals, and always talks about wanting to live on a farm with all the animals she can dream of having.  In fact, she says when she's older, she's going to move to a farm and me and daddy will live there too so we can help tend to the animals.  Anyway, she loved her b-day surprise.  Here are some pics.

After the riding lessons, she got to feed it some treats and brush it.

Now Anna can't wait for her turn!  :)

Sleepover

Here are some pics from Megan's sleepover last Friday night.  It was a princess party (if you can't tell).  The girls dressed up like princesses, finger-painted with princess paint, made princess cookies, had a treasure hunt for princess "treasures," watched a princess movie, and then slept in a big tent sprawled out all over the LR floor.  They had a wonderful time.   And I was impressed with how well everyone did.  I whispered a prayer asking for some help with the sleeping part (b/c I was feeling so tired), and God must have just put them all to sleep for me.  :)  Wish I'd gotten a picture of them in the tent.

Here they are playing outside.  They'd all sing "Here Comes the Bride" (replacing a few words with their own) and then they'd take turns being the bride and walking down the stairs.  It was so funny!
Here they are with some of their "treasures" on.

Skating Rink

On Saturday, we had the big birthday party at the skating rink.  It was a blast!  You all would have laughed out loud if you could have seen Jason racing around the rink.  It was hilarious!  I wish I'd gotten a picture of that.  He was literally dripping with sweat by the end of it.  I had my fun too, but it ended with a sore arm and bruised hand.  I guess I just can't keep up with my young, athletic, fun-lovin' man!  The best part about having her party at the roller rink was that Jason and I got to have so much fun with the girls for the first hour without having to worry about a thing.  It was such a good time.

We don't usually do so much for a birthday.  The girls had both been wanting to have a sleepover, so it worked out good to just do it on Megan's b-day weekend.

Megan's Six!

My sweet Megan is turning six today.  It was six years ago today that I gave birth and looked at her beautiful face in the hospital room for the very first time.  Six years of joy, laughter, pride, contentment, fun, adventures, reading, playing, teaching, correcting.  Six of the best years of my life.  What a blessing she is to our whole family!!!!  She adds a whole new "zing" to life.  Here she is wearing her "6" shirt that Aunt Kym and Myrah let us borrow.

We went out for breakfast this morning to celebrate.  They sang to her and brought her a dessert (yes, after the french toast, ham, eggs, pancakes, cereal, and bananas).  :)  Believe it or not, and if you know me and my girls' sweet tooth tendencies you'd believe it, we ate the entire cup!  Well, all except for what landed on Megan's clothes!  It was fun.

Doggie Redo

Here we go again.  Maybe this one will work for us.  She was being given away along with her brothers and sisters b/c the owner couldn't keep them all.  The girls were ecstatic when they saw her.  She's got a great disposition so far.  We'll have to wait and see.  But the outlook looks good right now!  She's definitely a cutie!  And Jason's even on board for now!
