Soccer Sisters

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year I actually spent the whole day with the girls.  We went to church and came home to eat.  Then we headed out to get a special drink at Sonic.  Went shopping at Penney's.  Went to a jewelry store and let them choose out about $5 worth each.  Got our nails done together for the first time ever.  Ate chips and dip at Cantina Laredo.  Got dessert at Cracker Barrel.  Then headed back to church that evening.  What a special day it was for us.  I truly enjoyed spending quality time with them doing fun things we don't get to do on a regular basis.

Megan's Field Trip

Okay, so I posted pics from Anna's field trip to the zoo a while back, but I'm just now getting around to posting pics from Megan's field trip to the family farm.  I got to go with her, and we had the best time together.  Here's a pic of her riding the "John Deere tractor."
Paddle boats.
Archery.
Big, old fashioned swing with her buddy.
Fishing.
Petting zoo.

Then that night we headed to Conway for the annual Toad Suck Daze.  Megan had been wanting to race a toad for awhile, so we thought we'd better let her.  She loved it.  The only sad thing was she didn't get to take the toad home.  :)   Her and Anna spent the majority of our time there playing in the petting zoo area and begging to take a puppy home.  They are suckers for animals--it doesn't matter what kind.

Quick Update

Just wanted to update the blog and let any of you who read it know that I'm much better.  There's just times I struggle with feeling like an outsider.  And there are times it hits me worse than other times.  But I'm doing good.

We just got back from a fun-filled trip to Seattle to visit some of our dear friends.  Can't wait to post pictures later and tell you all about it.

Most importantly, Megan got baptized last night at church.  It was one of the most touching moments ever as a mom.  What a blessing!  I'll post more on that later too.

Go Kris!

Go KRIS ALLEN!!!!  I'm so excited he made it to the top 3.  I was telling Jason last night Kris' life will never be the same in the wonderful town of Conway.  When he left he was probably just another student at UCA helping to lead worship at a local church...no big deal.  But when he comes home this weekend, he'll be a superstar!  Everyone will be going crazy and I can only imagine what he'll be feeling.

Anyway, GO KRIS!  And.... no matter what Simon says, I appreciate his humble spirit.  Hope he goes far.

Anna's HIPPY Field Trip to the LR Zoo

Anna got to go on a field trip to the LR Zoo with the HIPPY preschool group last Wednesday.  We rode the bus there and back, which was the coolest thing to her.  Once we got there we all separated and it was nice spending quality one-on-one time with Sissy doing something special like that.  We had a wonderful day together.

Here she is feeding the birds.

....and the fish
....and herself!  :)
We rode the train around the zoo.
She's checking out all the stamped footprints.  She asked about them a lot.

Here she is on the bus like a big girl.  She's growing so quickly.

SOCCER!!!

The girls had their first soccer game of the season last Saturday.  It was Anna's first game ever.  They're playing with Upward, so they got to run through the red tunnel as their names were announced.  They got a kick out of that.
They both had games at the same time, so Jason and I took turns watching each of them.  It was fun.  Anna was slow to warm up at first.  After a few minutes she started running with the ball and kids, but wasn't trying to kick it.  Toward the end of the game, she had started kicking it and getting right in with the best of them.

This is Megan's second year playing soccer.  She played really well.  She scored two or three goals and had a blast!

Whew!  Can't you tell she's just exhausted!  :)

At their next practice their teams had a scrimmage against each other, and Anna completely came out of her shell.  I think having Megan playing with her caused her to want to play just as hard as her big sister.  She was a force to be reckoned with.  Jason and I just looked at each other and thought....where in the world did THAT come from?
