MEGAN LOST HER FIRST TOOTH! April 28

She's been waiting and waiting ever so patiently on her first tooth to come out as all her friends around her were losing theirs left and right. Finally it happened! She lost it at school in the lunchroom. She was so proud after school to show me her "new" smile!

Then, last Monday night she lost her second tooth. I'll have to post a picture soon.

Our weekend May 2010

Well, I'm taking a break from "catching up" and posting about our week. Both girls finished their Awanas Wednesday night, so the church had a big awards ceremony for them. Both finished their books and memorized countless verses. Plus, Megan had to learn the Old and New Testament books, which is quite a feat.

On Friday, Megan took part in her school talent show with her good friends. They performed a magic act that was quite a hit. Of course I'm a little biased, but I thought they did a marvelous job. And judging by the kids' reactions, so did they. It was so fun to watch them performing their tricks.

On Saturday, both girls had soccer games. Jason's helping by coaching Anna's team this year, which she is loving.

And today was Mother's Day. We went to church, came home to eat lunch, then the girls and I headed out for a fun mother/daughter day. We got our nails painted, had coke and dessert at Cracker Barrel, and topped it off with a trip to the $1 Jewelry Store. Now we're relaxing at home after reading lots of books and having a wonderful supper. It was a great day!

And I just have to wish my mom and Gladys a very happy Mother's Day! We love you so much and appreciate all you do and who you are. Happy Mother's Day to the other ladies in my family and my friends as well. Love you all!

Valentine's Day!

Megan had to make a V-day box for school which is always fun. But of course, Anna wanted to make one too just because big sister did. Hers was a miniature version, but just as cute.

Anna's friends from church all came over for a V-day playdate. They played hard, ate a picnic lunch on the kitchen floor, and exchanged Valentine's with each other.

Then we headed to Megan's school just in time to join in on her V-day party. They had ice cream sundaes and exchanged Valentines.

Jennifer, Laura's shower, and more snow

My cousin Jennifer came for a visit and brought the girls special Valentines treats. We watched movies, colored, and had a great time with her being here.

The next weekend, Jason's sister had a baby shower, so the girls had fun dressing up and getting to wear a little makeup. The shower went great, and Laura got lots of new sweet baby girl things.

Then we got the first "real" snow we've had since we moved here. It was AWESOME. We got about 5 inches. We built a family of snowmen/girls, had snowball fights, went sledding, made snow ice cream, and built a snow fort.

"Ice Day"

Yes, that's right. It was an "ice" day, not a snow day. Our friends to the north in Conway and Harrison got snow, but we just got ice. Schools were cancelled, though, so we made the most of it. We went to my friend's house a couple blocks away who has a steep driveway and has a daughter that the girls just love playing with. The girls had a blast sledding down her ice-covered driveway until Anna fell and landed hard on her cheek. (She still has a little scar from it).

The girls loved eating the icicles and collected as many as they could....

...from anywhere they could find them (yes, even off the fire hydrant) to store in the freezer. :)

We made snow art using marshmallows.

And we even roasted marshmallows in our fireplace. It was a pretty fun day.
